From the Journal
A Barn House fortified for bears
A Larkspur customer needed a fortress against bears and mountain lions — so we built the Barn House with a five-strand, solar-powered electric fence. Weeks later, a bear tested it on camera. Once.

A few things worth knowing.
What size is the Barn House Coop, and how much space does it need?
Coop: 4' × 6'. Our flagship — a 4'×6' barn for up to eighteen hens. We confirm exact placement and clearances when we plan your build.
How much does the Barn House Coop cost, and what affects final pricing?
The Barn House Coop starts at $4,600. Final pricing depends on size, site access, paint, and upgrades like an automatic door or an added run — always confirmed in writing before we build.
How many chickens does the Barn House Coop hold?
Up to 18 chickens. We size every coop to the flock you have — and the one you plan to have.
What door options are available?
Every coop includes a latched manual door. You can upgrade to the Run-Chicken T50 automatic door — app-controlled with light-sensor automation — installed with your build.
See the Automatic Coop DoorWhat run options are available?
Several models include an integrated run, and any coop can add a dedicated LuckyBird run in three standard sizes (4'×8', 6'×10', 8'×12'), starting at $850.
See Chicken RunsHow does delivery and installation work, and what's the service area?
White-glove delivery and full on-site installation by our own team are included with every build. We're based in Franktown and serve Douglas County and the broader Front Range — including Castle Rock, Parker, Elizabeth, Kiowa, Conifer, and the Denver metro area.
How long does it take from order to delivery?
Every structure is built to order in our Franktown shop. Bill confirms your build slot and timeline when you request a consultation — most projects are scheduled within a few weeks of booking.
Is predator-resistance included, or an upgrade?
Included. 1/2" hardware cloth, a predator apron, reinforced framing, and latched doors are standard on every LuckyBird structure — engineered for Colorado's foxes, raccoons, coyotes, and bears.
